Istanbul Turkey, Where East meets West.

First time traveling to Istanbul Turkey, I did realise it is gonna fantastic since I would be stepping my feet both in Europe and Asia lands. This was amazing when the Turkish Airlines landed in Ataturk International Airport in the dawn after flying from Jakarta stopover in Singapore. I could not be more honest to say that Istanbul city is very amazing and astonishing. That was the first impression coming across my mind when the bus picked us up to the hotel in the Old City of Istanbul.

We were of the tour group from the travel agency in Jakarta offering the special package tour combining Istanbul and Casablanca in Marroco, but here I will share the Istanbul experience first then in the other article I will share about Casablanca. As you may know that Istanbul is the biggest and busiest city in Turkey. It is not the capital city of Turkey, the capital is Ankara in the Asian side but the business life is in Istanbul.

Walking down to the main attraction in Istanbul is the place called: Blue Mosque, Aya Sophia and Topkapi Palace in one area. In these places you may spend a whole day to export the ancient artefacts and the history of the Ottoman Empire.

Blue Mosque is very well known as Sultan Ahmed II Mosque is now still in service as Mosque while Aya Sophia was originally a church turning into Mosque during Ottoman Empire and now serves as a museum.

Topkapi Palace is a huge place, a place for Sultan with thousand people serving him. It is now also a museum. The kitchen is very huge serving 15.000 people in one time meal. Can you imagine how big are the kitchens. Inside we can see the place of Sultan, the Museum of many things from Ottoman Empire.

At the backyard of the palace lies a place where we can look far to the Bosphorus Strait which in very beautiful.

Istanbul, Turkey is a must-visit place for you and your family.
